Reds outfielder Ryan Freel was examined Thursday by a head and spine specialist, who recommended rest and limited activity as Freel recovers from a collision with another player. Freel, 31, was playing center field when he collided with right fielder Norris Hopper in the third inning of Monday’s 4-0 win over Pittsburgh in Cincinnati.
