    Griffey fears boos returning to Seattle (AP)

    -->

    A commemorative baseball, including a logo noting the return of Cincinnati Reds' Ken Griffey Jr. to Seattle and autographed by the outfielder, is displayed on the Seattle Mariners' field before a baseball game Thursday, June 21, 2007. Griffey signed 1,000 of the special baseballs which will be sold for $100 each and proceeds from them will go toward children's hospitals in Seattle, Cincinnati and Orlando. Griffey will play in Seattle for the first time since the city's first national megastar forced a trade to Cincinnati following the 1999 season.

    He was the grinning, boyish face of the Seattle Mariners. Really, the first face the team ever had. Yet as Ken Griffey Jr. returns this weekend to play in Seattle for the first time since he forced his way out of town in 2000, he is fearful. Of getting booed. Griffey returns to Seattle on Friday with the Cincinnati Reds.
