Berkman homers twice as Astros outlast Reds 7-6 (AP)

Reds activate Jerry Gil, move Ryan Freel to 60-day DL (AP)
Reds infielder Jerry Gil was activated off the 60-day disabled list and outfielder Ryan Freel was placed on the 60-day disabled list Wednesday. Gil, acquired last October from Arizona for minor league pitcher Abe Woody, missed almost the entire season after reconstructive surgery on his right elbow May 8.
